Bocote | Janka Hardness: 2010lbf
Native to Mexico, Central America and the West Indies, Bocote (Cordia gerascanthus) is a tropical hardwood that is relatively rare, especially in longer runs. An exceptionally hard, dense and heavy wood, bocote is stiff and strong with a medium texture that finishes into a fine sheen. Grain patterns vary from straight to swirling and wild curves, making for some extreme movement on select pieces. The heartwood comes in tan to dark brown to red with multicolored dark stripes that sway and interlink.
