Zebrawood - Tropical Striped Harwood

Zebrawood | Janka Hardness: 2097lbf

The name says it all with this wood specie. Zebrawood(Microberlinia brazzavillensis)is a native of western Africa, namely from Gabon and Cameroon, while the name stems from the appearance of the heartwood, which is a pale golden yellow cut with streaks of dark brown and black, resembling a zebra. A relatively hard and dense wood with a coarse texture, zebrawood makes for a strong accent when laid up with both darker and lighter woods, or as the sole statement alongside plainer species.
